Skill development programs

  • Art , Craft & embroidery classes.

These classes are held during weekends & holidays. This is to equip them with skills so that they can earn a supplementary income to help their family. Jewelry making, embroidery work, ceramic painting and other seasonal items like Diwali lantern, lamps, ’rakhi’ etc were covered .

  • Vocational training

To provide  a ‘second chance’ to the youth and young women who had dropped out of school due to various reasons , we started an employability enhancement program where youth and young women are imparted vocational training and life skill sessions, supported by KSWA & Volkart foundation.

We have initiated four courses- Beautician course, Tailoring and fashion designing, Retail marketing and Basic Nursing. The course duration varies from 3 to 6 months. Along with these courses all the participants are imparted life skill classes and ‘spoken English classes ‘as per their requirement. There is an examination at the end of the course and the successful candidates get Govt of India recognised certificate. IDEA also works towards successful job placement of these youth.
